Therapies Offered
I pull from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), but I’m not rigid. Therapy with me is structured where it needs to be, flexible where it matters. More than just talking, you’ll learn evidence-based tools to manage your emotions before they take over and leave you feeling worse. Below, you’ll find more information about these approaches. We’ll discuss them further in our first session.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
CBT is an evidence-based therapy that helps you gain clarity on the thought patterns that influence your emotions and behaviors. Instead of focusing on making thoughts "positive," we work on shifting unhelpful patterns to more constructive ways of thinking. This approach also emphasizes changing behaviors, as doing so can improve mood and reinforce more balanced, realistic thought patterns. By addressing both thoughts and actions, CBT provides lasting improvements to your mental well-being. It's especially effective for managing anxiety, depression, and stress.
Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) Skills
DBT is an evidence-based therapy designed to help people with emotional dysregulation by learning about the triggers that lead to reactive states and applying specific skills to deal with these situations. It combines strategies like mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness to empower clients to lead more balanced and fulfilling lives. I provide informed DBT. Adherent DBT involves individual therapy, skills group, and phone coaching.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
ACT is an evidence-based therapy that helps you to stop pushing away difficult thoughts and emotions. Instead, it teaches you how to acknowledge them and stay present, even when they’re uncomfortable. Through ACT, you'll learn to be open to your internal experiences without letting them dictate your actions. The focus is on taking meaningful actions aligned with your core values, regardless of what thoughts or emotions arise. ACT is effective for treating a variety of mental health challenges and builds psychological flexibility.
